Academic English

This intensive ESL course will help increase your ability to succeed at an English-speaking university, and to communicate professionally in your career.

• Practice your skills using high-level materials, including Canadian sources as well as British and American ones.
• Understand and use academic and technical vocabulary with increased skill.
• Polish your performance with materials from IELTS and Cambridge FCE and CAE.
• Improve your use of English grammar when writing and speaking.
• Fine-tune your abilities in our modern computer labs.
• Prepare to enter university EAP programs (ask the registrars or e-mail us at lc.is@issbc.org for universities which have connections with our program).

Course Fees

Please note that the start dates and course fees are based on a 48-hour term (6 weeks). Students can register and study for a period anywhere from 6 weeks to 1 year in this course as the material changes every term.
